Europe 2012 Day 5, German Autobahn

We arrived back in Frankfurt in the evening. We picked up the rental car for the drive north to Burgbrohl.  My coworker, who was driving, was disappointed that we ended up with an SUV.  I told him we could go try to trade but I think he was tired and wanted to hit the road.  Once we got on the A3 we could drive as fast as we wanted.  My coworker asked me what was the fastest I ever went.  "Well there was this time in a porche where we reached 120, which is 200 km..."

He looked at me and said, "then my goal is 220."  So while there are sections on the German highway (autobahn) that you can go as fast as you want, they are interrupted by areas with speed limits. So usually the fast sections only last a few miles. Being safety conscience with an SUV, my co-worker would take the SUV over 160 where there were turns.  A couple times he reached 200 km but the car had no more power to reach his 220 goal.

It was late when we got to our hotel.  We checked in and then went downstairs for some sleep aid for my coworker.  German beer is truly top rate!
