Europe 2012, Day 4. Poland

Monday, July 16:

I arrived in Poland on the famous Wizzair. What? You've never heard of Wizzair? Think a Bulgarian version of Southwest Airlines dressed in pink and purple (my two favorite colors!).  I didn't think to take a picture of the plane.

The road to Bielsko where my Supplier's factory is located was a two lane highway, at first.  Then it was just a "motorway" and then a very narrow “motorway” (think back country highway) with  no shoulder.  I asked my supplier by which road did they take container loads of finished goods to port? He said, "This one." and then to my incredulous "really," he replied, "Hey, this is Poland."

The number one physical characteristic of many of the Poles I met were their eyes. They were amazing pools of blue that I could easily get lost in. They reminded me of the eyes of a certain guy, who I thought I knew.  Our driver had these eyes.  I was drawn into them and found myself staring at them. Every once in awhile, he would catch me staring. The hotel clerk and the waiter had them as well.  If I lived there, I wonder if I’d ever get used to those amazing eyes.

When we checked into the hotel, the clerk gave me the key to my room 302 and told me it was on the second floor.  "Odd," I thought. When we boarded the elevator, my colleague said, "Strange," as he noticed there were only floors one and two and he was also in a room that began with the number 3.  I told him, "I thought it was off when the clerk told me we were on the 2nd floor, too.  But hey, this is Poland."
